Gas-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry investigation of tropane alkaloids in Hyoscyamus albus L. from Morocco.
Thirty-four alkaloids were identified in the organs of Hyoscyamus albus L. by gas-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (GLC-MS). Eight new compounds for the roots, eleven for the stems, twelve for the leaves, nineteen for the flowers, and seven for the seeds were detected. The alkaloids 5-(2-oxopropyl)-hygrine (8) and phygrine (20) are new for this species and 3-(hydroxyacetoxy)tropane (9), ...
متن کاملGrowth and Production of Tropane Alkaloids by Cell Suspension Cutures of Hyoscyamus Albus
Cell suspension of Hyoscyamus a/bus L. were investigated for growth and production of tropane alkaloids in three different media. The effects of sucrose concentration and initial pH were also studied. 2,4Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and 1% sucrose enhanced the production of tropane alkaloids. The percent of alkaloids (0.75%) was higher than in the cultivated plant (0.352 %).
متن کاملThe Incorporation of [1,2-13C2] Acetate into Pisatin to Establish the Biosynthesis of Its Polyketide Moiety *
Biosynthesis, 13C-NMR, Phytoalexins, Pisatin The biosynthesis of the polyketide moiety in pisatin has been examined by incorporation ex periments with [1,2-13C2] acetate and 13C-NMR measurements. The results establish that the C-5 carbonyl group in the enzyme-bound, open-chain polyketide precursor is reduced before cyclization to form the aryl ring. The specific incorporation attained in these...
متن کاملAssessment of Morphological and Tropane Alkaloids Diversity among some Henbane (Hyoscyamus niger L.) Populations
Background: Black henbane with the scientific name of Hyoscyamus niger which has a wide geographic distribution, is considered as one the most important species for tropane alkaloids extraction. Objective: In this research, morphological and tropane alkaloids variations were assessed within different population of H. niger in their natural habitats. Methods: Totally, 56 individuals were colle...
متن کاملChanges of Tropane Alkaloids in Black Henbane (Hyoscyamus niger L.) in Response to Different Types of Nitrogenous Fertilizers
Background: Since alkaloids are nitrogenous compounds, the availability of nitrogen (N) is expected to play an important role in the biosynthesis and accumulation of alkaloids in plants. Nitrogen has been found to increase the content of alkaloids in some of the medicinal plants. Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the effects of nitrogen bio-fertilizers, conventional nitrogen fe...
